2012-2013 Coaching Staff
Tommy Shuey: D1 Hofstra University
Tommy grew up in Dallas TX, where he played lacrosse for the Highland Park Scots. While in high school, he earned All-American honors and led Highland Park to it’s first two state championships and was team captain in 2005. He went on to play at Hofstra University on Long Island, New York where he had the opportunity to play for coach John Danowski, who now coaches at Duke, as well as coach Seth Tierney who left Johns Hopkins to lead the Hofstra team. While at Hofstra the team was consistently ranked in the top 10 and earned two CAA Championships as well as three NCAA tournament appearances.
Little known fact: Tommy was a drummer in a Punk rock band through his high school days.
Pat Debolt: D1 Duke (coach), D1 Ohio State (coach), D1 Hofstra (player & coach)
Pat has 6 years of Division I coaching experience including a National Championship with the Duke Blue Devils. He has worked with some of the best players in the world and coached alongside the top coaches in the game including Coach Tierney from Hofstra University, Coach Myers from The Ohio State University and Coach Danowski from Duke University.
Coach Debolt has extensive experience working with the top select lacrosse programs around the country and he is bringing his knowledge and expertise to Sentry.
Steve Prifte: D1 Hofstra University
Steve came to Dallas in 2012 where he began coaching with the St. Marks Lions. Prior to Dallas, Steve coached for E.C Glass High School in Lynchburg, Virginia. Steve in an Alumni of Division 1, Hofstra University where he played both lacrosse and football. Prior to college, he was an all american from Medford, New Jersey
Little known fact: Steve rides a bike to work.
Pat Schmitz: D1 Georgetown
Pat grew up playing lacrosse in Baltimore for Georgetown prep where he was a captain of the team and won a national championship in 2006! He then went on to play defense for division 1 Georgetown University. While at Georgetown the team was consistently ranked in the top 10 and did very well.
Thomas Wood: D1 UNC
Thomas grew up in Dallas, TX and played lacrosse at ESD from 5th grade through 10th grade before moving to Virginia to finish high school. While in Texas, he had the opportunity to play in two state championship games but fell short both times, unfortunately (once to Tommy Shuey and HP). Thomas went on to play at the University of North Carolina where they made the NCAA Tournament all four years and ended up ranked in the Top 10 at the end of all four years, as well. He is currently coaching the 5th/6th Eagles Lacrosse team and assisting the varsity team.
Chipps: D1 Duke University
Chipps grew up in Dallas playing lacrosse for the Highland Park Scots where he was a two time All-American and earned 3 state championships. He is now playing for the 2010 national champion, Duke Blue Devils.
Little known fact: Chipps is an avid Hack-Sack player.
Muncho Almerido: MCLA UCSB
Muncho grew up in Dallas where he was a 4 year starting goalie for St. Marks. He was captain of the 2003 team and earned All-American honors. He went on to play at University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB), where he was a 2008 Team Captain and All Conference Goalie. He was recently named a member of the UCSB All Decade Team for the 2000’s. He is currently living in Dallas where he coaches for Highland Park.
Little known fact: Muncho collects Vinyl records.
Rich Moses: D1 Hobart
Rich grew up in Malverne, Long Island and attended St. Mary's in Manhasset and was a teammate of Johns Hopkins Coach Dave Pietramala. He won 2 Catholic League Championships and earned All League honors his Junior and senior years as the leading scorer on his squad. He then attended Hobart College from 1985 to 1989 and played on 4 D3 National Championship teams with Dave Urick as the Head Coach. During Rich's senior year he was awarded the Noel Filipino Award for outstanding sportsmanship and team play. He has been lucky enough to have been teammates with or coached by some of the best Division I coaches in the game today. (Pietramala, Dave Urick, Marc Van Arsdale, Jeff Tambroni, Frank Fedorjaka)
Little known fact: I like living in Texas more than New York, but don't tell my family back East!
Bob McGrath: D3 Lynchburg College
Bob is a New Jersey native who played college lacrosse at D3 Lynchburg College. After graduation, Bob coached for E.C Glass High School in Virginia before moving to Texas. He currently works in the Oil and Gas industry and coaches for Sentry.
Little known fact: Bob was a ski instructor in Vail, CO.
Simon Telfer: MCLA University of Texas
Simon Is a Plano native who went on to play lacrosse at the University of Texas in Austin. While at Plano, he was first team All-State and a member of Team Texas. During his UT days, he received All-Conference as well as All-American honors his senior year.
Alex Puorro: D1 Bellarmine
Alex grew up in St. Louis, MO playing lacrosse for DeSmet Jesuit. Made the All-State team his senior year. Played D1 lacrosse in college for Bellarmine University. Returned to St. Louis to finish MBA and began coaching for his Alma Mater from 2007-2012. Alex has lived in Dallas since July 2012.
Mike Devlin: D1 Vermont
Mike was born in New York but grew up playing lacrosse in Cape Cod, MA for Barnstable High School. During his senior year he was the leading scorer, team MVP and the league all-star. He also played for the Top Gun FIghting Clams all-star team where he competed against some of the best players in the country. Mike went on to attend school at University of Vermont where he played lacrosse until relocating to Dallas.
Little know fact: Mike is an avid mountain climber.
Pam Sagehorn - Fairleigh Dickinson University
Pam, a native of Bridgewater, New Jersey, has been in Dallas for two years. Pam graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she was a two sport athlete in both Lacrosse and Basketball. Through her college playing years she received various awards including, rookie of the year 02', all-conference 04', MVP 05', lead scorer 04' and 05', and had the honor of team-captain in 05'. After graduation, Pam coached both lacrosse and basketball in New Jersey. She coached basketball at Drew University and both lacrosse and basketball at North Brunswick High School where she was named high school lacrosse coach of the year two consecutive seasons. She coached Varsity & JV for Allen High School and led the team to the semi-finals in districts and the state tournament. She was also the head coach for the 3/4; 5/6; and 7/8th grade CKS teams, and 7/8th grade at Greenhill School in the 2009-2012 seasons. She is currently the program director and coach of the Varsity, JV and 7/8 grade teams at Highland Park High School.
Caroline Doswell - Denison University
Caroline moved to Dallas from Annapolis, Maryland about two years ago. She has played lacrosse since she was 9 years old, playing for her school, the Calverton School, in addition to playing for CC Lax, a select travel team from Annapolis. While playing in MD, Caroline was 4X Offensive player of the year and was a 2X team captain. She then went on to Denison University just outside Columbus, Ohio. Caroline has been coaching lacrosse ever since graduation and is now the Greenhill Girls Varsity head coach.
Rachel Gerbosi - Indiana University
Rachel moved to Dallas from Long Island, New York in 2011. She has played lacrosse for over 15 years. In high school, she captained her varsity team from sophomore through senior year. Rachel coached youth lacrosse on Long Island in Seaford, NY as well. She went on to Indiana University where she played lacrosse all four years and captained the team in both her junior and senior years. She received recognition as Indiana University's 2011 Attacker of the Year and WCLL (Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League) 2011 Division I First Team All-League honors. She graduated in 2011 with a BS in Kinesiology, minoring in Kinesiology Coaching and Psychology. After graduation, Rachel moved to Dallas where she coached the 7/8, JV, and Varsity teams for Southlake’s Lady Dragons. This 2012-2013 season, in addition to Sentry Lacrosse, she is coaching the 7/8, JV, and Varsity teams for the Highland Park Scots, while completing a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling at SMU.
Evans - University of Pennsylvania
Traci joins us by way of Philadelphia. She attended William Penn Charter School, where during her senior year she was named captain, led her school to their second ever league Championship scoring 51 goals for the season and was named a high school All-American. After high school, Traci went on to play mid-field attack for Penn from 1999 - 2002. As a freshman, Traci started every game and by her final season, Traci had been named co-captain of both the 2001 & 2002 seasons, earned All-Ivy League honors, Honorable Mention All-American honors and was invited to the USA Women's National Developmental Team tryouts. In those 4 years the quakers progressed from a 1-12 record, to being nationally ranked 15th where they made it to their first finals of the ECAC championship. In 2012 Traci helped to build the San Francisco Riptide Club lacrosse team. She coached the U9 girl’s team and coached girl’s ages 8-17 in private one-on-one and group sessions. Traci currently resides in Dallas, TX. She is coaching the Highland Park Girl’s Lacrosse Club 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade team. She is also helping out with the BearsLax 3rd-4th grade team and currently conducting Private Lessons.
Candace Harp – Texas Tech University
Candace Harp is a native Texas lacrosse player. She began playing lacrosse at Coppell High School her sophomore year and went on to play at Texas Tech University. Candace served as Varsity Captain her senior year at Coppell and Tech. After graduating college, Candace returned to DFW. She coached the North Texas Lone Star Lacrosse Travel Team in 2008 and currently coaches Highland Park’s 3/4 and 5/6 youth programs
