Girls Overview
Each Player will tryout in September for their respective teams based on their grade; 1st – 4th, 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th and High School. Making the Sentry team means that you will be placed on one of the Summer travel teams and you will have the option of playing on the Fall team. There will be A and B teams so that you will be playing with girls of similar skill level. Sentry reserves the right to move any player up or down when the summer teams begin practices. We want everyone to have a successful experience.
Summer Team:
During May and June the team will practice twice a week. Throughout the summer the girls will learn new individual skills, team concepts, offensive and defensive sets and team plays. The 1st through 4th grade teams will practice and play in 2 local tournaments. The 5th and 6th grade summer teams will play in 1 local tournament and will travel to 1 destination tournament. The 7th and 8th grade teams and High school teams will travel to 2 destination tournaments.
Sentry Fall Team:
During the months of September to November the fall team allows for the players to learn new skills and continue playing lacrosse in the off season. Practices are designed to help players advance their skills while having fun. We work on individual skills as well as team concepts. The team will practice twice a week and play in 1 local tournament and 1 destination tournament.
Sentry Winter Team:
During the month of January the team practices in preparation for their local school tryouts and an in-state tournament if available that year.
In addition to our January team, we have additional practice options for players who want to continue playing lacrosse throughout the Winter. Sentry will offer weekend clinics that progress through the winter months. These clinics will be age appropriate for individual and team improvement and held on weekends through December and January.
